About
The Delta is formed by the ParanĂ¡ River flow which drags sediments who end up forming islands, streams, rivers and channels. This is one of the 5 greatest deltas in the world and the only one ending its course in sweet water as it finds the Rio de la Plata instead of the ocean.
You can take a catamaran tour or go on a canoe or kayak excursion to admire the islands. People live in these islands and they can get there only by boat. It is fun to see water taxis and boats carrying groceries to sell. There are yacht clubs, watter skiers, regattas, surf, wake-boarding, fishing ect...
This is a great place for ecoturism as you are surrounded by nature. Many bird species can be found in the islands.
The pluvial station is where you can hire all kinds of tours. There's food and souvenirs too.
You should also visit the Port of Fruits when in Tigre, this used to be a food market but now it is a crafts market. You'll be amazed by all the things you can find there. Furniture, food, clothing, silver, leather, accessories, soap, pretty much anything at bery good prices.
You can go to the Museum House of Domingo F. Sarmiento- National Historical Monument (small construction of wood raised in 1853 by Sarmiento)
Another attraction is El Parque de la Costa, a theme adventure parc with roller coaster, bungee jump cord and many other rides.
You can make this a day trip from Buenos Aires or find a hotel to stay longer.
How to get there

Best way is El Tren de la Costa. You'll enjoy the ride as part of your trip.
TBA Retiro/Mitre train branch also gets you there. This option is a lot cheaper but not recommended as trains are very crowded, dirty, and you will find yourself concerned about your personal belongings. You should probably not try it unless going with a resident.
Bus lines are not recommended either as the trip becomes too long due to continuous stops and detours but you could take line 60.
There are also minivans available for larger groups.
