Fortaleza is the capital of Ceara in Brazil. And home to some 3.4 million Fortalezenses. Fortaleza is a very much alive city. There are many museums and shops that you can visit during day time while you can enjoy the cocktails in their wide variety of bars.

The climate is warm the whole year through and the beaches are the initial attraction in town. Many tourists love to bathe and play under the sun in any time of the year. Fortaleza is known for having the “wildest Monday nights in the world”. This is because of the numerous bars and clubs found around the town. Dragao do Mar Center of Art and Culture is the perfect place for clubbing and nightlife. They have the best of the best clubs with many 1st class restaurants.

Being famous for the clubs and beaches. Fortaleza’s beach has their own peculiarity. Iracema is known to be the Bohemian beach. Meireles is commonly visited by the locals and tourists. It has the most number of hotels to stay in. Mucuripe is famous for jangadas. While Praia do Futuro is the most prominent in sunbathing and surfing.


There are several international flights going to Fortaleza every day. You will arrive in their beautiful Fortaleza International Airport. Around the town, there are buses and taxis for those who don’t have any means to commute. A train is now being built under the CBTU management and will soon operate in 2010.
