About

Sofia is the capital city of Bulgaria since 1879 and is the main administrative, industrial, cultural and university center of the country. Located in the middle West of Bulgaria near Vitosha Mountain, it's home to a growing population of over 1.5 million people.

Climate
Sofia has four seasons. The winter is not very frosty, but still the lowest temperatures have reached -15C. Summers are sometimes rainy and often hot reaching 35C. Spring and autumn are usually mild and pleasant.

Places of interest
Sofia has more than 7000 years of history. Many remains have been restored and preserved, mostly in the central part of the city. There are also a number of administrative buildings, theaters, the National Opera and Ballet Hall, cathedrals, galleries, and many other attractions.

On warm afternoons, locals enjoy cooling off in the shadows in one of the city parks. In the evenings, choose between multiple clubs and restaurants to have a good time.

You can reach Sofia by air, by bus(only in Bulgarian)
or by train.

The city transportation is organized by buses, trams and trolleys, and very recently new part of the subway has been finished and released.
