Sen Monorom Falls

The rich culture, breathtaking scenery and wonderful people are the significant characteristics of Mondulkiri. Set as one of the largest province in Cambodia with 40,000 inhabitants, the hilly province is nestled against the border of Vietnam and northeast of Cambodia.

Mondulkiri is famous for its unique beauty of forested hills and powerful waterfalls. The province offers wonderful opportunities for Eco-tourism in Cambodia.

The numerous tourist attractions includes the waterfalls, indigenous culture, national parks and elephant trekking.

Mondulkiri also has numerous waterfalls. Not all of them spectacular, but riding around in the beautiful countryside is a gem in itself. Here's the list:

- Bou Sra Waterfall
Located at Pich Chinda District, 43 kilometers from Sen Monorom by a very difficult road (to be upgraded in 2005). Bou Sra is the most beautiful waterfall in Modulkiri and has three stages.

- Sen Monorom Waterfall
Sokha Beach is located just west of Serendipity Beach . This beach is the most popular among local beach goers. It provides many facilities and wide white sandy beach, especially on the high tide season.

- Rum Near Waterfall
10 kilometers from Sen Monorom, located near rubber, coffee, cashew, mango and avocado plantations. At the waterfall, there are many big trees projecting a cool shadow to the area.

- Chrey Thom Waterfall
43 kilometers from Sen Monorom. The provincial Tourist Office promotes this waterfall as the top tourist site instead of Bou Sra which is inaccessible during the rainy season.


Bus leaves once a day from Phnom Penh. Tickets are available from the travel agencies around the town.
