Angkor Wat is one of the most important archeological sites in Southeast Asia. Located 5.5km north of Siem Reap, the 400 sq km Angkor Archeological Park contains magnificent remains of the capitals of the Khmer Empire dated from the 9th to the 15th Century. The most famous are the temples of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and The Bayon Temple where you can view countless sculptures and carvings.


How to get there

Angkor Wat, Siem Reap
Admission: $20 for a day tour, or $40 for a 3-day open tour.

Access: Angkor Wat can be accessed either via plane from Phnom Penh International Airport, or a 12-hour bus ride. Bus tickets are $6-$8.

Getting around the temples: Note that since the temples are not near one another, it will take time to reach each location. Travelers are advised to bring comfortable shoes and a bottle of water. There are also moto dups (motorcycle taxis) and tuktuks that can make your tour easier. They will normally range from $10-$15 the whole day.
