About

Moraine Lake is like a smaller, less crowded version of Lake Louise. It's located off the same turn-off from the Trans-Canadian Hwy. Like it's sister, it's also a glacial lake, colored cloudy blue from the rock flour. The area has hiking trails and probably winter sports as the snow in the mountains doesn't melt even in summer.

It's picturesque in a natural way, as opposed to Lake Louise which is often photographed with the hotel in view. I'd recommend stopping by as it's in the same area as the must-see Lake Louise.

How to get there

Off the same turn-off from the Transcanadian Hwy as Lake Louise, located within Banff National Park.
