The people of Revelstoke so loved their little park that they lobbied for its creation. If you look down on the city of Revelstoke, you can understand why. It seems other cities float their logs down the rivers to the confluence that is Revelstoke. Witnessing the destruction of their national forests, I can see why Revelstoke residents wanted to save their piece of paradise.

Anyhow, the park is small and vertical and contains a rainforest. At the top you'll find the "Meadow in the Sky" parkway, an alpine meadow easily accessible by car and full of flowers in summer. Elsewhere you'll see the Giant Skunk Cabbage boardwalk, and I saw a number of black banana slugs. The drive up to the meadow also allows views of Revelstoke the town as well as the Columbia River.

You know, I like this place.


All parts are easily accessible by car, minimal walking/hiking required. The Giant Skunk boardwalk, is located, on a BOARDWALK. I visited in mid-August, which in Canada is the end of summer - beware of lots of rain.
