Kwasitchewan Falls

Looking for a real tough hike? Why not trek the Kwasitchewan Falls, Manitoba's highest waterfalls at 14.2 meters. The trail starts at Pisew Falls, which is a stop alongside the highway on your way north to Thompson.

The falls empty into Phillips Lake. The second loop of the trail follows Phillips Lake and then joins back onto the original trail following the Grass river.

Plan to camp overnight at the far end of the trail - a designated back-country campsite is available for long-distance hikers. Pack as light as possible. Expect plenty of mosquitoes so don't forget to bring some repellent.

This place is recommended to anyone that's in good shape and looking for a challenge.


It is 74km/46 miles south of Thompson. There is a trailhead across the parking lot from where you park to walk down to Pisew Falls.
