The Little Mermaid is one of the most famous statues in the world. It’s located in Copenhagen and only ten minutes walk from the pier. The statue is less than five feet tall and sits on a rock at the harbour of Langelinie. In 1909, Carl Jacobsen who is the son of the founder of Carlsberg got fascinated with a prima ballerina. There he asked Ellen Price to be his model and Edvard Eriksento to be the sculptor. On August 23, 1913, the statue was unveiled.
How to get there
Copenhagen's canal tours all go past the statue of The Little Mermaid at Langelinie. In addition several other guided tours and excursions by bike, bus or foot will take you there.
