About

Galapagos Islands -- an archipelago of volcanic islands distributed around the equator in the Pacific Ocean, 972 km west of continental Ecuador. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site: wildlife is its most notable feature.

Every year it is estimated that thousands of visitors travel to the Galapagos Islands. The standard Galapagos tour will take you to the typical tourist sites, but cannot offer the excitement and adventure that you will be able to find in the Galapagos Islands Adventure Travel packages. Adventure Travel is a very popular and new alternative to the typical Galapagos Tours on the Galapagos Islands.

Galapagos Islands adventure travel allows you to kayak, mountain bike, ride a horse, or snorkel up-close and personal with the world's most fearless wildlife. The combination of land-based accommodations and travel between islands by small private planes or speedboats give you more time to enjoy amazing wildlife encounters while participating in your favorite adventure sports.

Where to stay:
1. Finch Bay Hotel
2. Galapagos Safari Camp
3. Red Mangrove
4. Hotel Silberstein

FYI: Vaccinations
If you intend to only travel to Quito and the Galapagos Islands, there are no vaccinations required. If, however, you intend to visit mainland Ecuador, especially to the Amazon or coastal regions, we recommend you to ask your doctor. Tell them exactly where you intend to travel to. Possible recommended vaccinations for Ecuador are typhoid, hepatitis A, diphtheria, and yellow fever. Do this well ahead of time since some vaccinations, like diphtheria, need to be administered three months prior to your trip!

How to get there

There are at least 3 flights to the Galapagos Islands everyday. All flights to the Galapagos leave from mainland Ecuador from the capital Quito and from Guayaquil. All flights from Quito pass through Guayaquil. Flights from mainland Ecuador arrive at one of the two Galapagos airports on the islands of Baltra and San Cristobal.

There are two airlines serving the Islands, Aerogal and Tame.
