Arc De Triomphe

About

Triumphal arches celebrate Napoleon's victory at the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805. At 50m high, the arc is encrusted with military scenes of Napoleon's battles.

The Flame of Rememberance burns beneath the arch, as a memorial to the veterans of World War I.

There is a viewing platform from the top of the arc, where you can have splendid views of the Champs-Elysees. On the other side is La Defense, the window-shaped building.

How to get there

Take the Metro to Charles de gaulle. Consider combining this trip with one to Champs-Elysees.

Cost is 9 Euros. The arc is open 10am to 10:30pm.
