About

Also known as the Big Buddha, the Tian Tan Buddha is one of the largest outdoor buddhas in the world. It was completed in 1993 in symbolizing the relationship between man and nature. The Buddha sits on a lotus altar atop 268 steps that visitors will have to climb to reach it.

The buddha was built from 1990 to 1993. It is surrounded by bodhivisita statues. Give it a coin for good luck.

I'd give this 3 stars just because its the largest outdoor buddha in the world. And there's an awful lot of buddhas.

Plus it was built in 1993. Can you imagine the time, expense, and the fact that they had space for it?? It's on a hill reaching for the sky.
