Charminar - The Four Minarets Marvel, is an important landmark and an historical monument in the city of Hyderabad. The Charminar was constructed in 1591 AD by the Golconda king Quli Qutub Shah.

Hyderabad is the capital city of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Charminar is located in the heart of Hyderabad. The city of Hyderabad is rich in historical monuments, gardens and palaces and the city is well known for its hospitality and cosmopolitan life.

Charminar derives its name from its four minarets. The monument is known for its intricate and delicate architecture and magnificent structure. Hyderabad is also famous for its culinary delights like Biryani, Haleem and other Mughalai dishes.

The city of Hyderabad has several tourist sites like Golconda Fort, Salarjung Museum, Qutub Shahi Tombs, Birla Mandir, NTR Gardens, Birla Planetarium, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Ramoji Film City.

The weather is dry most of the year except during the rainy season which lasts from June to September.

Hyderabad is also famous for its precious pearls and bangles. The market surrounding the historical monument is known as Lad Bazar is famous for bangles. Hyderabad is also referred to as the city of pearls.
