Hyderabad is among the six major cities of India featuring a large number of tourist attractions which draw thousands of tourists every year. The city is known for its rich history, architecture, culture and traditions. The culture of Hyderabad is regarded as a blend of South Indian and North Indian cultures.

Climate
Climate of Hyderabad is wet and dry. Weather in the evenings and mornings are coo, though during day time, it is hot. Winters are the best season to visit Hyderabad as the weather is relatively pleasant.

Attractions
Hyderabad, being an old and important city, has a huge treasure of architectural wonders. There are many great buildings from the history, modern architecture, parks, museums, palaces, forts and others. Some of the popular attractions in Hyderabad include Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Husain Sagar Lake, Faluknama Palace, Golconda Fort, Chowmallah Palace and Salar Jung Museum, Ramoji Film City, The HITECH City (Cyberabad) to see the latest technology and many others. Many of its historic sites are listed under UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The modern metropolis of Hyderabad is no less charming, offering hi-tech structures with glass facades, sprawling malls, flyovers, highways and heavy traffic. Hyderabad is known for its traffic snarls.

Charminar is the most famous monument of Hyderabad and often regarded is the most important landmark of this historic city. Charminar is a square tower, standing in the middle of the most crowded area of the city, the old city. This is named so because it has four minarets (Char Minar) on each cornet. It rises up to 56meters.
Golconda Fort is another important monument here. These are the ruins of a majestic fort which stand as backdrop of the city. Built in 1525, this fort is a testimony to the rich culture and architecture prevailing in those times.
Salarjung Museum is among the finest museums in India. It has a huge collection of artifacts, art objects and books housed in 38 rooms.
Shopping in Hyderabad is an important tourist activity. Hyderabad is known for its pearls and pearl jewelry.


How to get there

Hyderabad is well connected to other Indian cities by rail, road and air. By air, it can be reached from Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Nagpur, Bangalore and Vishakhapatnam. The city has a newly constructed international airport also.

By trian, visitors can comfortably reach Hyderabad from Delhi using the Rajdhani Express. Many other cities are also connected with Hyderabad. There are also many other options by road such as private and public buses and taxis.
