The Tada Falls, also known as Ubbalamadugu Falls, which is about 15 kilometers from the railway station is a major attraction. Since there are not many trek-worthy spots near Chennai, Tada falls has become a popular trekking spot for adventure enthusiasts in Chennai.

Tada is a town off the Chennai-Nellore highway, just over 85km from Chennai, India. It is located in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh and is about 1.5 km north of the Andhra Pradesh border. This place is the exact border of the Andhra Pradesh. Its nearest major railway station is Sullurpeta. Further inside is a place called Varadaiahpalem, a trek up to the waterfall its highlight, which are also called Ubbalamadugu Falls locally. It offers a nice trek and an experience of rock climbing too. The forest is not commercialised much and hence it is still a true forest, and not a tourist place. Nippo Batteries has a big manufacturing unit in Tada. It is now an upcoming industrial place.

The major languages spoken in Tada are Telugu and Tamil.


The closest city to Tada is Chennai. Tada is well connected to Chennai via local trains and mofussil buses that head to Chennai from Tirupathi.

Trains from Chennai heading to Sullurpeta from Chennai Central pass via Tada. There is a train every two hours and the last train from Tada to Chennai leaves at 5:30 pm.
