Leh

Leh is a scenic part of Jammu and Kashmir featuring views of the Himalayas and glaciers. It is located 3500m above sea level.

My Travel Experience
Here I would like to share my experience in Leh, certainly, my experience was superb and incredible. I arrived late in the evening at the airport and checked my luggage. I already have a booking with a nearby hotel. I was very tired so on that day I did nothing. Next day morning, what I see, I do not believe, a very striking view of snow capped mountains all around.

Leh is basically known for its Buddhist traditions and is capital of Laddakh. The main attractions include Himalayas, gompas. I visit many of them on that day and realized that it is the purest form of life that a person can live. In the late afternoon, I visited bazaar (market) for some shopping.

Next day I move towards chumathang , basically famed for hot springs owning remedial properties and then we embark the local transport to arrive at maha bridge, where i get an opportunity to discover the daily life of people. The main inhabitants of Leh are Buddhist and Muslims.

inhabitants of laddakh are hard laborers and a very warm host. Tourists feel as if they are in their home. People in laddakh are very simple and ready to help you if you need one.

Next day I move to tsomoriri, famous for campfire and camping and Tsomoriri Lake was just wonderful to watch.

I visited a wonder in Leh called “magnetic hill”. You can drive up to the hill at a speed of 20 Km/Hr without turning engines “ON”. These properties are even witnessed by planes passing by this wonder. Magnetic properties are unique of this hill to amaze you.

During my third day of visit, I headed towards “Pangong Lake” at an altitude of 14000 ft with some beautiful scenery all around. Then Sheh palace was my next destination, it was a beautifully constructed palace with a reservoir inside. In addition, in the end I move to Saboo village, with very rich and colorful culture and mouth-watering dishes like momos, and spicy soups.

This was the end to my wonderful trip and I wish I could visit leh again for more adventures and colorful life.


Leh is very well connected via air and road. Flights are not very frequent but then your travel agent can always arrange one for you. But if you want to see real Leh then journey by road is advisable to all tourists. There are direct buses (public transport) to leh from Delhi (capital of India). If you are full of enthusiasm then hire a bike and go for a majestic ride to Leh.
