Periyar Lake

Munnar is a luxuriant paradise located at the convergence of three mountain streams, Muthipuzza, Nallathanni and Kundala. To gain a unique experience, it’s an ideal place as it has sprawling tea plantations, trekking and everything to rejuvenate your soul and mind. Earlier, it was not a popular tourist spot but because of its enchanting beauty it has picked up in recent years among the tourists who are in love with nature.

Climate
The serene destination has a salubrious weather. It ranges from -5 degree in winter and 25 degree in summer making your stay pleasant. Monsoons make it appear the place look majestic and blissful because of the drizzling.

Attractions
For animal lovers, Wild Periyar sanctuary is a must. We travelled about 95 kms each way and I was able too watch animals near the Periyar Lake. Tea, Coffee, Cardamom and orange plantation is a must sightseeing tour to cover .One of the favorite spots among tourists are Gloria Farm Safari which is situated near to the renowned Mathikettan National Park. The huge area has pride and swank the unspoiled forests with a assortment of flora and fauna. Moreover, the half of the trip is covered by the jeep car which takes you inside the slushy thick forest where you will also enjoy the view of Cumbum Valley.
To feel peaceful and relaxed from your busy schedule of life, Devikulam is a real treat for you. It has beautiful green slopes which are trying to hide the lake. Undoubtedly, it’s a perfect picture of fairy tale charm.


The nearest airport is Cochin which is 140 kms away. Moreover, you can also take a train from Coimbatore which is 5 hours journey approximately from the railway station.
