About
Well it is a beautiful hill station situated at an altitude of 2025 meters surrounded by dense pine forests and greenery all around. It is a place where you will feel that time is still and calm prevails.
Patnitop is famous for its short treks to its nearby mountains as if you can take a trek to Shiva garh, some 11 km from Patnitop situated at an altitude of 3500m.
Visitors can visit three springs, said to have medicinal properties being very good for your skin and health. Alternatively, you can take a walk up to scenic forest passing though wooden lanes.
Patnitop has many picnic spots where you can enjoy quality time with your family. Some famous picnic spots are: Sanasar, 19 km from Patnitop and chosen by the state government to develop as a major tourist spot.
Visitors can go for some adventure sports in Patnitop like camping, pony riding, mountain climbing and paragliding.
Best time to visit Patnitop
You can visit patnitop anytime in the year but summers are the best time to visit. If you like ice skating then Months from December to March are the best.

Jammu- Jammu is a nearby station, and very famous for its temples.
Vaishno Devi- is 62 km from patnitop is in the province of J&k. Vaishno Devi situated at an altitude of 5200 feets from sea levels.
Bahu fort and temple- is 3000 years old and originally built by King Bahulochan.
Buddha amaranth temple- To reach here you have to get permission from Indian Government. It is a temple situated on the foothills of Himalayas.
How to get there
Buses and taxis are available from Jammu/Katra/Udhampur. By a taxi it takes about 3 and a half hours to reach Patnitop and bus takes about 5 hours.
By Air- Jammu is the nearest airport and from there you can opt for Taxi or buses
By Train- Frequent trains depart from Delhi.
