About

One of the four great metropolitan cities of India, Mumbai is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Mumbai is the gateway to India and gets most of the international traffic to India. Located on the shores of the Arabian Sea, Mumbai is the conglomeration of seven islands. Mumbai is important to India for more than one reason. Capital city of West Indian state of Maharashtra, Mumbai is financial capital of India. All the major Industrial houses of India have their headquarters in Mumbai Only. Mumbai has the National Stock Exchange of India. Mumbai is the liveliest city of India being the home of all the most famous celebrities in India. Mumbai is called Bollywood also as it is the home of world famous Hindi film industry.

Climate
Being a coastal city, Mumbai stays humid most of the times in Year. Apart from that, Mumbai has three seasons’ summers, winters and Monsoons. November to February is the best months to visit Mumbai as it is pleasantly cold there.

Cultures and Attitudes
Mumbai is home to large numbers of immigrants who come from all over India in search of jobs. Mumbai has cosmopolitan culture. People of Mumbai are called as Mumbaikers and they are proud of this identity. Mumbaikars are lively, tolerant and hardworking. Mumbai has seen many attacks on its cultural and economic identities but all Mumbaikers have come out of them successfully thanks to their spirit to live together.

Attractions
Mumbai has wide array of attractions which are a blend of natural attractions, historical attractions and modern architectural wonders. The Gateway of India is the most evident historical structure which has almost become the face of Mumbai for other people. Victoria terminus which is a historical building built in the Victorian style of architecture. These structures are listed under the World Heritage Sites. Beaches of Mumbai are the great tourist attractions. When you are in Mumbai, spend evenings at beaches like Juhu, Chaupatty, Marine Drive, Madh Island Beach for getting most interesting sights of the people around. Other attractions are Nehru Planetarium, Haji Ali Mosque, Mahalaxmi Temple, Film City, Nariman point, Prince of Wales Museum, Mani Bhavan and many more.

And yes, more than these attractions, local food of Mumbai is the one thing you can not afford to miss. Forget about diet and size, just gorge in specialties like Vada Pav, Paanipuri, Bhel Puri, Dhabelim Masal Papad and more.

How to Reach Mumbai
Mumbai is well connected to all the major cities of India by Air, Rail and Road. Mumbai has International airport which is perhaps the busiest in India. You can board private airlines from various cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Bhopal and more. Mumbai has the headquarters of Central and Western Railways and is connected to all the major cities of India. Many buses, taxis are available from the many cities of India to Mumbai. For long distances, it is convenient to travel by Train or air.
