Naukuchiatal, known as the lake of nine corners, is popular for its serene beauty, orchards and forests. It is located 26 km from Nainital and just 4 kms from Bhimtal. The area is popular for its local fairs and festivals like Jaulijbi and Thal fairs, and Nanda Devi fairs. Popular activities include hiking, bonfires, river-crossing, mountain-biking to name a few.
Don't miss Bhimtal, an emerald green region perfect for angling and boating. In addition there is an intricate 17th century Bhimeshwar temple situated parallel to a 40 foot high dam. Afterwards, visitors can see Nainital, one of the most pleasing hill stations to experience.
How to get there
Naukuchiatal is a 7 hour drive from New Delhi. Alternatively, take a train to Kathgodam and from there Naukuchiatal is just 30 km away.
