Colosseum

About

The site of gladiator games, executions, battles, animal hunts, and drama. The famous Colosseum was Rome's greatest amphiteater, created in AD 72 by Emperor Vespasian. The four levels were built with different style arches, from Doric, to Ionic, to Corinthian.

Next to the Colosseum, you will find the Arch of Constantine, commemorating Constantine's victory over Maxentius in AD 312.

How to get there

Take the Metro to Colosseo, or one of the many buses towards Colosseo.
Open daily 9am to about 6pm, depending on the season.
Admission is 15.50 Euros.
