Spanish Steps, Lazio

About

The longest and widest staircases in Europe, the Spanish Steps lead to the church of Trinità dei Monti. You'll find a beautiful blend of architectural styles from Romanesque to Renaissance to Baroque.

At the base of the steps, you'll find Piazza di Spagna where brand-name shops line the streets for your shopping pleasure.

The sight of the square in spring should not be missed, when the ramps of the staircase are literally covered with flowers and the architecture is playfully lost beneath a magnificent array of colour.

How to get there

It's located at the Piazza di Santa Maria.
From metro station Termini, walk a few minutes.
