The largest Chinatown in Japan is in Yokohama, developing quickly with foreign influences at the port city. The lively streets provide a colorful setting for a variety of stores and restaurants. Local specialties include the nikumans (meat wrapped in dough) and the anmans (sweet red bean wrapped in dough).

Chinatown holds events and festivals throughout the year such as the Chinese New Year.

The area is best seen by just wandering around randomly for an hour or two.

How to get there

Take the Minatomirai Line to Motomachi-Chūkagai Station (35 min from Shibuya Station in Tokyo).
Or, take the Negishi Line to Ishikawachō Station (50 min from Shinagawa Station in Tokyo)
