Osaka Castle

Osaka Castle is one of Japan's more famous castle. It sits sublimely in the city center, surrounded by stone walls and moats. The park covers about 2 square km and is a popular place for festivals and viewing sakura during the cherry blossom season.

The castle was first built in 1583 but was burnt down multiple times. The current concrete reconstruction of the castle was built in 1931, and major repairs were conducted in 1997.
