About

Ginza is an upscale shopping district featuring many department stores, brand-name shops, art galleries, and cafes. It is one of Japan's most expensive areas, where you can spend up to $10 on a single cup of coffee.

Points of interest include the Mitsukoshi and Matsuzaka department stores both of which date from the 1600s, the Kabuki Theatre, the futuristic Sony Building, among others.

It is particularly crowded during the weekends where traffic is blocked, turning the entire street into a pedestrian shopping arcade.
