Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur

About

This is the famous Petronas Twin Towers, which has defined the Kuala Lumpur skyline since 1998. It stood as the tallest building in the world from 1998 to 2004, and still stands as the tallest twin tower today.

The tower is the most prestigious office space in Kuala Lampur, with the top floor reserved for the directors of Petronas, Malaysia's national petroleum company. The lower six floors are occupied by the Suria KLCC Shopping Mall, which has a mixture of luxury goods outlets, fine dining, food courts, and a multiplex cinema. Isetan, a Japanese department store, is also one of the anchor tenants. This is a popular shopping destination for foreign tourists.

There is a sky-bridge on the 41st floor, which is open to the public in the mornings. Tickets are free but limited, so one has to queue early before 8-9am in order to secure a ticket.

The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra performs regularly at the modern concert hall on the ground floor of the KLCC.

There is a very well maintained park behind the shopping centre. Many families picnic at the park on weekends, and young children will splash in the fountains.

There is also the convention centre is towards one side of the towers. The convention halls will be packed to the brim for 3 days every 4 months during the regularly organised PC Fair, where bargains are aplenty for all manner of tech goods from most major brands.

The convention building also houses the Aqua Ria, an indoor aquarium.

How to get there

Take the Putra Light Rail Transit (LRT), and alight at the KLCC Station.
