About
Rabat is good to explore especially the town offers rich history about the people and the culture. I have made a list of places you can visit. See below.
1. Mausoleum of Mohammed V – it is located on the opposite of Hassan Tower and houses the tombs of the Moroccan King and his two sons. The mausoleum is considered a masterpiece of Alaouite dynasty architecture. The exotic design of green tiles on the roof and white silhouette gives invigorating feel to visitors.
2. Mohammed V University – first modern university in Morocco which is founded in 1957.
3. Hassan Tower – considered at UNESCO World Heritage. The tower was supposed to be world’s largest minaret along the mosque, however as sutan Yacoub –Mansour died, the construction wasn’t able to finish.
4. Chellah Necropolis – located on the outskirts of Rabat, Chella displays ancient and medieval ruins of the past.
5. Kasbah of the Udayas – built when Almohads still reign the city.
The climate in Rabat is mild making it perfect to walk around the city.
