Annapurna lies to the north of Pokhra district, a very giant Himalayan range across Nepal. Annapurna is one of the most famous trekking regions in the world. Trekkers from all over the world visit these famous mountains. There are namely three major trekking routes; they are Annapurna area, Muktinath and Annapurna conservation area.

The Annapurna circuit: - It attracts most of the visitors; this trek goes through Annapurna, Tibet slopes and kali Gandaki gorge. The highest point on this trek is “Throng La” 5381m from sea levels. This pass is uncrossable between the months of December to April, due to heavy snowfalls.

The Annapurna Sanctuary: - This trekking route is one of the easiest in the world, and attracts some 11000 visitors per year. Many peaks in this region are in the range of 6000m to 8000m like Annapurna, Macchapuchhare, Himchuli and others. This sanctuary has some majestic moraine, glaciers, and meadows.

Muktinath Trek:- This entire trek remains below 3000 m and Muktinath Shrine is the endpoint to this trek. Through this entire trek, you will pass through mountains, rivers, thick jungles, snow deserts and subtropical jungles. It will at least take two weeks time to complete this trek


How to get there

Pokhra is the nearest station to all these treks and one can reach here by the way of air from Kathmandu or by bus from anywhere from Nepal
