About
Lots of reasonable – even dirt-cheap – accommodation is available, depending on your preference for creature comforts. Food is fresh and bountiful; one restaurant not to be missed is the cozy Log Cabin that even agreed to serve special native dishes for us not on their usual menu.
There is a lot of sightseeing to be done so allow a few days to go around here, in addition to the lengthy travel time to and from Sagada. Among its famous attractions are the Hanging Coffins, Burial Cave, Small Falls and Big Falls, as well as several rice terraces and limestone caves. It requires some physical effort to be able to have the full Sagada experience, so be prepared for a good workout!
How to get there
Take a bus from Metro Manila (the country’s capital) to Baguio. Victory Liner has a trip leaving every hour from its stations in Pasay and Cubao. The ride usually takes 6 to 8 hours depending on the traffic, so best to leave either late at night or in the wee hours of the morning to avoid that.
Upon arriving in Baguio, proceed to the Dangwa Bus Station to take another bus to Sagada. This trip takes another 6 to 7 hours on rough and zigzag roads around the mountains but the views along the journey are spectacular.
Others:
Via Manila-Banaue-Sagada
Via Manila-Bontoc-Sagada
