Dipolog is the capital of Zamboanga del Norte, the first class town down south of the Philippines. Wild orchids are everywhere in Dipolog and sardine industry is one of the livelihood that the people cherishes as they have a very rich sea. Dipolog is also known as the Gateway to Western Mindanao through the Western Nautical Highway.

Best places to explore in Dipolog:

Linabo Climb - There are 3003 steps going up to the peak. It is one of the favourite destinations for tourists whenever they go to Dipolog. Up in the peak, you will see the fantastic view of Dipolog & Dapitan, where lush green trees are scattered covering the whole plains. Linabo Peak is also famous for devotees who performs their penitential rites when Lenten Season's come.

Sta. Cruz - Otherwise known as Punta Corro, this is the place where the people from Bohol landed from Visayas. They built a cross to represent their gratefulness to the Lord on May 3, 1905.

Cogon Park - A vast reforestation area that consists of 344 hectares in Barangay Cogon. Many visitors are astonished with the different species of trees you can see. Some of them are even nearly extinct because of the non-stop illegal cutting. There are also wild varieties of birds, reptiles and other wild animals. Cogon Park is also one of the most wanted camping site. There are available picnic cottages for families and friends who want to enjoy nature. After the hike, you can have fun at Sungkilaw Falls which also serve as the highlight of the park.

Dipolog Hall - The house of the famous monument of the three prominent Dipolognons - Hon. Pascual Martinez, Rev. Fr. Nicasio Y. Patangan and Eugenio R. Margate. These three men have contributed a lot to make Dipolog a city of promise.

Dipolog Fountain - Located at Estaka-Turno road junction and known to be the Fountain of Blessings. This represents the diverse cultures in Dipolog and believed to give bountiful blessings to every one in the city.

Big Joes - famous for amusing burgers, shawarma and arroz ala cubana. For only 100 pesos, you can taste a load of these extremely fine in-house specialties.

Tsibugan sa Dipolog - if you want to eat lechon manok and other local cuisines in Dipolog, this place is perfect for you. They have superb menu that will make you eat as much as you want in a very affordable price.

Getting to places in Dipolog is easy because there's an available public mode of transportation everytime.


How to get there

There are cheap flights everyday to Dipolog City. Located at the province of Zamboanga del Norte within the southern island of Mindanao in the Philippines, Dipolog City is surrounded by neighboring cities and municipalities such as Dapitan on the northern part, Polanco on the eastern side, and Katipunan on the southern area.

Generally, people can go and visit the beautiful City of Dipolog using three different paths, namely fly by air, travel over land, or navigate the seas. Through these various modes of transportation, people can enjoy a peaceful, convenient, and comfortable travel to one of the top tourist destinations in the country today.
