About

This famous fort, commonly known as "El Morro", is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Started in 1539, and basically finished in era of the WWII, this Fort is full of wonder and adventure. Visitors can enter the world of the Spanish soldiers and learn about how they lived and breathed for the safety of "The Pearl of the Caribbean". Learn about the many battles this fortification had with the infamous Sir Francis Drake, Dutch invaders and US Battleships. Guests can also see the secret passages that soldiers used to escape or to get to their cannons.


How to get there

Hours
The fort is open from 9am to 5pm daily.

Access
Visitors in the San Juan Area can board a trolley for the Old part of San Juan. Trolleys run until 6 or 7pm.
