About
Table Mountain is the most prominent landmark in Cape Town. It provides breathtaking views over the city and the beaches. On a clear day you will be able to see the magnificent Cape Flats to the Hottentots Holland Mountains. The sandstone sculpted mountain is a home to more than 1400 species of plants that includes the rare Silver Tree & the wild orchid Disa Uniflora.
The Devil’s Peak in the east and the Lion’s Head in the west are what form the dramatic Table Mountain.
How to get there
The Table Mountain Cableway is the best way to enjoy Table Mountain. Passengers start the ride from the lower cable station on Tafelberg Road which is about 302m above sea level. The upper cable station offers views overlooking Cape Town, Table Bay & Robbern Island.
A round trip ticket is worth R150.
Note of advice:
Take warm clothing with you when riding the cableway, the temperature gets cold as the car goes higher and sometimes clouds plummet down without any warning.
