About
Gotland receives many hours of sunshine with a cooling effect owing to the presence of the adjacent sea. The first inhabitants on this island are the Stone Age people which are roughly 7,000 years ago.
Gotland has got several kilometers of sandy beaches and cliffs that fall down to a turquoise sea. Wind suffering, chary outback land that still has a special light. A city center from the middle age, that if you let it will swipe you 700 years back in time.
If you are interested on birds, the island Stora Karlso is a must. Here you can find around 260 different kinds of birds, among others guillemot and razorbill. You can get to Stora Karlso by ferry boat from Klintehamn.
If you go to the southern part of the island called Storsudret, you can meet the sun as it rises and also take part of the scenery when it disappears in the evening. On the northern part of the island you can chose either to live in luxury or in a cheaper alternative. However both alternatives offer the nature just around the corner. Tradition might take you to a pension or to your favourite camping ground to get that perfect vacation.
