Femöres Fortet

Femöres fortress is on old fortress used by the Swedish coast artillery until the 1990's. The fortress is close to Oxelösund and was secretly constructed to protect the Oxelösund's harbour and the inlet to Braviken.

The fortress has three canons, one radar station and a lot of underground pathways. Outside the fortress there are chairs and tables for some eating before the guided tour which takes about one hour. Inside the fortress the guide gives information of Sweden in the cold war era and show the different departments in the fortress. Everything from the sleeping areas to the radar operation room and where the canons were loaded.


From E4 drive to Nyköping, then follow the signs to Oxelösund and thereafter follow the signs to Femöringen. There is a large parking lot and the last kilometer you have to walk.
