About
Tourism is the foundation of the island. Large number of tourists and visitors come to the island every year to enjoy the sun and play in the water.
Highlights of the Grand Bahama Island:
Freeport – the major city. It serves as the commercial harbor and the main airport of the island. Around the port, you will find good shops where you can buy local souvenirs.
Lucaya – is the major tourist destination. It contains pristine & white sand beaches, hotels like Sheraton & Westin Plaza. This place is great for fishing, snorkeling and sightseeing. Another highlight is the Booze Cruise trips which leave Bell Channel Harbour every day.
West End – the capital of Grand Bahama.
McLeans Town – located at the eastern part of the Grand Bahama.
A $100/day budget is good enough to cover for the meals, tour and hotel you are staying. Though all of these will still depend on the kind of activities and amenities you want.
