The Grand Canyon
About
The Grand Canyon is probably the most popular nature attraction in the world. The impressive gorge, about 277 miles long and 18 miles wide, is located in the north-west of Arizona. At its deepest point, it is more than a mile from rim to river. Most of the Canyon lies within the Grand Canyon National Park. It contains three geographically separated regions: the South Rim, the North Rim and the inner Canyon.
How to get there
Grand Canyon is in the northwest corner of Arizona, close to the borders of Utah and Nevada. The Colorado River, which flows through the canyon, drains water from seven states, but the canyon itself is entirely in Arizona. Most of the Grand Canyon lies within Grand Canyon National Park and is managed by the National Park Service.
