About
Places to Visit in Kauai.
1. McBryde Garden - serves as a research and conservation garden. It is home to the largest ex situ collection of native Hawaiian flora in the world, as well as extensive plantings of palms, flowering trees, heliconias, orchids and other plants collected from tropical regions.
2. Bellstone - it is so named because, when struck sharply, a note would resonate over a large area of Wailua Valley, warning of danger.
3. Na Pali Coast State Park – the oldest inhabited island.
4. Waimea Canyon State Park - the canyon was formed by a deep incision of the Waimea River arising from the extreme rainfall on the island's central peak, Mount Waiʻaleʻale, among the wettest places on earth.
5. Fern Grotto - forms a natural amphitheater which greatly increases the acoustics of the many bands that are hired to perform live music, which has traditional themes.
6. Opaeka’a Falls - a spectacular waterfall and is one of the island's few waterfalls that can be seen from the road. It flows year round and therefore is not seasonal. Most of the time it falls in a double cascade but the two sides may become one after a heavy rain. The best time of day to see the falls is in full sunlight when the water sparkles the most. If the day is cloudy the view is less spectacular.
7. Makaleha Mountains - the highest point is 3,071 feet (936.04 meters) above sea level.
8. Iraivan Temple - The temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva. "Iraivan" means "He who is worshipped," and is one of the oldest words for God in the Tamil language.
