Historic Auto Museum
About
Historic Auto Attractions was built in 2001 by owner Wayne Lensing. After winning over 100 races, other racers started to go to him to build, repair and set up their race car. Wayne began fabricating racecars chassis out of his Rockford garage more than 20 years ago, he has since moved to bigger and better facilities to now own and operate if not the largest, late model fabrication and parts warehouse. Also during that time Wayne became an avid collector of automobiles, both with historic value and celebrity popularity. For the better part of 10 years he built up a collection exceeding 70 special interest autos. These famous autos are now housed in a magnificent building built specifically for the cars, and run as a museum. Each display is artistically designed with graphic illustrations and historical information.
Historic Auto Attractions is not only home to famous cars, but also a wide array of movie memorabilia. Some of those pieces include Marilyn Monroe’s nightgown, a sweater worn by Hollywood legend James Dean, and an outfit worn by Elvis Presley. In addition a large section of the museum is dedicated to John F. Kennedy, along with the “Day in Dallas” display.
