About
Although there are only three major streets, there's no shortage of sightseeing. Visit the Royal & Ancient Golf Club and the accompanying Old Course, which are the world's oldest and most prestigious golf courses -- indeed, the game was invented here! Following that, amble across one of the town's three beaches, take a stroll through the castle and cathedral ruins, climb St. Rule's Tower for a magnificent view of the land and ocean, or perhaps just browse through the quaint stores and cafes lining North, Market, and South Streets.
The University of St Andrews is also something worth looking into, and St Salvator's Quad and Chapel, located on North Street, is not only a landmark of St Andrews, but also a lovely place to take a rest and appreciate the age and beauty of the town.
Whether you're taking in the calming view of the sea, playing a round of golf, or having a pint in any of the 20 to 30 pubs there, you're sure to have a relaxing and enjoyable time in St. Andrews.
