About

Buckingham Palace is the Queen's official residence. It is only open to visitors during the Summer (August to September), but even still you can see the changing of the guard (a parade of guards with music as they change regiments).

The Changing of the Guard occurs nearly every morning in the Summer, and several times a week during other seasons. The schedule is not fixed, so check it before going. Changing of the Guard schedule

The State rooms are used extensively by The Queen and Members of the Royal Family to receive and entertain their guests on State, ceremonial and official occasions. During August and September when The Queen makes her annual visit to Scotland, the Palace's nineteen state rooms are open to visitors. Entry includes a visit to a garden, home to thirty different species of bird and more than 350 different wild flowers, some extremely rare.

The Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace is a permanent space dedicated to changing exhibitions of items from the Royal Collection, the wide-ranging collection of art and treasures held in trust by The Queen for the Nation. For a list of current exhibits, see The Royal Collection at Buckingham Palace.

Buckingham Palace is very near Regent's Park, which is a very beautiful royal park. Take a stroll through it while you're there.
