Hampton Court Palace, Greater London

About

Built over 500 yeras ago, the royal Hampton Court Palace offers visitors magnificent gardens, beautiful interiors of state rooms, and massive kitchens built to feed 1000 subjects. The history of the palace spans from Henry VIII to George II.

Today, the Court Palce feels more like a tourist attraction, where you will find costumed guides and audio tours detailing what life used to be like. But still, you will marvel at the splendor of the picturesque and vast gardens, or at the intricate rooms.

In the summer months horse-drawn carriages offer trips around the stunning gardens.

If you are interested in castles, you might also enjoy Windsor Castle. I enjoyed Windsor more, but Hampton is also a fun visit (especially the gardens) if you have some time to spare.

How to get there
