About

The world's largest collection of living plants, Kew Gardens is a large botanical garden and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors will find a wide array of plants and flowers at the gardens, and it's large enough for a healthy and pleasant walk. The large greenhouse is one of the center points of the garden, with many more species of plants. There are even horse-drawn carriages in some parts of the park.

In the gardens, you will also find Kew Palace, a small neat and trim orange building, home to King George III during his illness. It costs 5 pounds for entry, but you can enjoy the gardens very well even skipping entry into the palace.

How to get there

The gardens are open 9:30 to 17:30 daily and cost 13 pounds for entry. Kew Palace costs an additional 5 pounds for entry.

Access: Kew gardens is a bit of a trip outside of central London, located 10km southwest of the city center.

From London, take the tube District line (destination "Richmond") to Kew Gardens.
From Waterloo, take the Southwest trains to Kew Bridge.
There are also bus routes. See the official site for more.
