About

Poole Quay is the heart of old town Poole, a former busy sea port it is hailed as the St. Tropez of the South Coast of England. No longer a working quay, Poole Quay now attracts tourists with its array of luxurious bars, hotels and restaurants. It is also the home to Poole Pottery factory, where one can take a tour of the famous pottery and learn how people been manipulating pottery in the area for centuries.

Boat trips can be taken from Poole Quay for those wishing to explore by sea areas including Old Harry Rocks, the Jurassic Coast, Swanage, Poole Bay and the major islands of Poole Harbour; the second largest natural harbour in the world.


How to get there

By sea, the harbour is serviced by Brittany Ferries from Cherbourg and many local operators from Swanage, Sandbanks and Bournemouth Pier.

By land, it can be reached via the A35 from East or West.

By public transport, Poole town is served by very busy bus and rail stations, with most services in the area making a stop here. From the stations, the Quay is but a short walk through the high street.
