Da Nang serves as a major port in Vietnam. It is the fourth largest city in the country, and home to some 800,000 people.

Places of interest include Marble Mountain, prominent for its rocky limestone outcrops jutting out of the beach. These lead to the top of the forested cliffs that offer spectacular views of Non Nuoc Beach and the East Sea. Marble Mountains is home to numerous artisans who sculpt at its base.

Also of interest is Non Nuoc Beach, renowned for its glamorous splendor and history as an R&R destination for US troops during the war. Non Nouc beach is also coined for its luxurious resorts, surfing and entertainment facilities.

Those interested in archaeology can take a trip to My Son, which served as the capital and religios center of Cham Kingdom. It's located in a remote forested valley 70km west of Da Nang. It is advised that visitors arrive early to avoid the jam on the road and heat as there is little shade in the area.


How to get there

By air, fly into Đà Nẵng International Airport. The airport has several domestic connections from Hanoi, Hồ Chí Minh City, Quy Nhon, and a limited number of international routes from Bangkok and Singapore.
